Paul Boray comes from a working class background. He has been interested in the violin since he was a child, which his father disliked since he felt it a waste of money, but which his mother supported. Into his adult life, Paul wants to become a concert violinist, and although he shows talent, he does not have the right connections to make it into the concert performance world, much like his longtime friend, virtuoso pianist Sid Jeffers, and cellist Gina, both who, like Paul, train with the National Institute Orchestra. Gina and Paul have a connection with each other, Gina who confesses her love for him. While performing at a party with Sid, Paul meets Helen and Victor Wright, their hosts. Victor is a perceptive but self-admittedly weak man, while his wife Helen is strong minded but insecure which manifests itself as neurosis. She constantly tries to forget about her unhappy life by excessive alcohol consumption. Helen becomes Paul's benefactress, which ultimately results in a successful concert career for Paul. But the two also fall in love, a destructive love against the wishes of Paul's mother and Gina. That love may not only destroy Paul's concert career, but their lives as well.—Huggo

John Wintergreen is a diminutive motorcycle cop working the lonely highways of Arizona in the mid seventies. He works alone, but occasionally hooks up with his pal "Zipper." Wintergreen is conscientious and friendly, whereas Zipper is bored and argumentative, often holing up off the highway to read comic books rather than out on the road . Wintergreen is a Native American and has ambitions to be a detective. So when Zipper and Wintergreen find a delirious and disoriented elderly man wandering in the desert, the trail of how he got there leads back to a deserted shack. Inside is the body of a man who has committed suicide with a shotgun. Wintergreen airs his suspicions about the death, first to the coroner who is keen not to get involved, and then to Harve Poole, an Arizona detective. Harve believes John Wintergreen's suspicions are right and takes him under his wing as his driver and protege. This seems like the break Wintergreen needs to leave the big Harley police bike behind and to walk tall as a detective, in fresh duds, boots and a stetson, dispensing wisdom. But tensions between the two mount over cocktail waitress Jolene, and in differences of opinion over the murder, especially over some missing money, some hidden drugs and the suspected involvement of outlaw hippy bikers, whom Harve is keen to bust. Wintergreen's own run-ins with the hippies on their way to and from California were mostly friendly. Some of his colleagues in the Highway Patrol, however, believe they are in a running battle with disrespectful, drug running, proto-terrorists. John is caught in the nexus of his loyalty to the police force, his ambitions to be detective, his companion'ss distrust of the hippies, Harve's domineering style, Zipper's recidivism, Jolene's manipulation, his sense of responsibility and his own easygoing natural empathy with the people he meets. Something has to give.

Screaming Eagles is a world war two drama about a 15-men platoon of paratroopers. The platoon, under Lt. Pauling's command, belongs to Company D, 502nd Parachute Regiment, 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. Shortly before the Normandy landings, the platoon receives last-minute recruits who must be parachute-trained in a hurry. Some of the new men come from the Merchant Marine. There is some friction between the newcomers and the veteran members of the platoon. Lieutenant Pauling and Sergeant Forrest do their best to keep incidents to a minimum. On the eve of the Normandy landings, the platoon decides to use the issued passes to celebrate in town the upcoming action. However, at the gate of the base, the soldiers are informed that all passes have been canceled in the view of the imminent Normandy invasion. All members of the platoon are rejoiced at the news. They head back to the barracks and prepare their gear for the flight to France. They even sober-up private Mason, who, having decided to celebrate alone rather than go into town with the platoon, is drunk in the dorm. After a tense flight over the English Channel, the platoon is parachuted into Normandy, France. Its mission is to take a vital bridge and join the other units of their battalion. Unfortunately, due to night-time error, the platoon is dropped 20 miles off course from the originally assigned drop-zone. It lands right into the lap of an unsuspecting German battalion.
