Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street takes us inside the minds and hearts of the Sesame Street creators, artists, writers, and educators who, together established one of the most influential programs in television history. In late 1960s, Joan Ganz Cooney, a socially conscious female television executive was working in the fledgling world of public television. She was asked by friend Lloyd Morrisett Jr., who worked for the Carnegie Corporation of New York and who specialized in the psychological studies of pre-school children, to take on revolutionary experiment. Could Joan create a children's show that would "master the addictive qualities of television and do something good with them?" Inspired by the civil rights movement, Joan and Lloyd took this experiment one step further and began to envision using the new medium of television to educate all children, and specifically reach America's "inner city" children to help close the educational gap that systemic racism and poverty had created. It was the right project, at the right time, and she needed the right group of people to make it happen. To harness the burgeoning power of television and create an educational, impactful, and entertaining show that could reach children nationwide. Cooney recruited visionary Muppets creator Jim Henson and acclaimed children's television writer and director Jon Stone to craft the iconic and uplifting world of what became Sesame Street. Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street focuses on the first two experimental and groundbreaking decades of Sesame Street, highlighting this visionary "gang." With interviews with the original surviving creators, and their families, we hear and see how "the gang" came together. "How can frightened people change anything?" Claudine (1974) by Tina and Lester Pine is touted as a "heart and soul comedy" about a struggling, single mother of six feisty children, who takes a rare leap of faith to date a smooth and amorous garbage man. Claudine Price (Diahann Carroll) thinks she found herself a prince of a man in Rupert "Roop" Marshall (James Earl Jones)-a hardworking man who seems genuinely interested in her and her defensive kids. He's attentive, affectionate, and persistent with Claudine, and he slowly earns the trust, better behavior, and affection of the children. The romance is steady and strong, and Rupert proposes to a hopeful Claudine, despite his reluctance to deal with the irrational and unhelpful rules of the Social Service department. When Rupert gets a "willful neglect" notice along with a wage garnishment for child support, however, he goes into a rage, quits his job, and disappears from Claudine's life on the day the children throw him a Father's Day party. The disbelieving and despondent Claudine and the kids now struggle to adjust to Roop's absence, and Charles, the oldest of the six, goes out to confront a drunk Roop at a bar. Roop is hardly in any state to fight back, so he gives Charles a bear hug and shows up later that night, in front of their apartment building, to say goodbye to everyone. What happens, instead, is a heartwarming exchange where Roop complains that Claudine's family is too much for him to handle financially, and the kids reassure him that they won't be as unmanageable as he thinks. Roop and Claudine get married and galvanize their new family unit by banning together to protect the impassioned Charles from the police. Themes of family, faith, following one's heart, and fighting for what is right are woven throughout this story based in civil unrest and family disharmony.—T.B. Hayes

Just before his friends and Avery arrive at his apartment, Tepper also finds in the wallet a Big 3 Lotto ticket, a $6 million winning ticket for the draw that just happened that night, he having checked the numbers against their vow. He goes through mixed emotions about what to do, the money which would set him and Carla up for their lives. Having switched his own ticket with Avery's by the time his friends and Avery arrive, Tepper ends up out of necessity spending much of the night with the four, with his guilt sometimes getting the better of him. Avery's suspicious behavior also leads Tepper to believe that he may not be everything he appears on the surface, especially as the police are on the lookout in the neighborhood for a suspect of an undisclosed nature. Carolinus, the Green Wizard, is worried that the role of magic in the world is waning. He calls on his three fellow wizards to create a Realm of Magic in which to preserve their way of life. Peter Dickenson, a young Boston writer, is called back through time to lead the team. He is the first descendant of the dragon master Peter the Great who is conversant in both science and magic. Joining him are the dragon Gorbash and knight errant, Sir Orin Neville-Smythe. Ommadon sends his dragon Bryagh to kidnap Peter. Carolinus quickly casts a defensive spell that accidentally mergers Peter with the dragon Gorbash. This means a new third questor is needed. Carolinus names his old dragon Smrgol to the position. A series of challenges awaits the questors. In the end they are aided by the Shield of Saturn from Solaris and the Golden Flute of Healing Sleep from Lo Tae Zhao. Carolinus's daughter, Melisande, and Peter are spiritually and mentally linked during the adventure.
