"The Climate Baby Dilemma" explores the state of what to expect when you're expecting... climate change. With the future promising to be increasingly unstable and insecure, conversations about parenthood are heating up. Over the course of three years, the film follows prominent science writer Britt Wray, as she delves further into this complex issue - hosting workshops, giving talks, and speaking to activists, psychologists, parents and prospective parents. The film also meets many youth at the centre of the climate moment. A growing number of Gen-Z and millennials are either refusing to bring a child into an increasingly unstable world or struggling with the question of whether they should. Those deciding to have children, while being very climate aware - like activists Sarain Fox and Severn Suzuki - offer perspectives and lessons for raising children in the climate crisis. Through her research, Britt considers how one can transform climate anxiety and grief into transformative action. For many, the best antidote to feeling powerless is activism - and that can take many forms, including the decision not to have a child.

The other people involved, Mike's older brother, bakery owner Brandon Mitchell, his architect husband Jake, and their two infant children, are coming from Denver also wanting to eke out their own family Christmas traditions between the four of them, they staying in Andi's mother's otherwise empty house next door. Things take a turn when Mike's publicist Kathleen has arranged for Mike to be on "Deck Those Halls", a head-to-head annual house Christmas decorating competition show between two celebrities, Mike reluctantly agreeing in succumbing to the pressure to do so from all sides, including Andi, Noah and his family, meaning the last minute resurrection of the Christmas house. But when the other celebrity has to bow out, Kathleen, in seeing the rivalry between the two of them, has what she thinks is even a better idea: for Mike's competitor to be Brandon, the second house to be Andi's mother's. As Ryan unexpectedly arrives on the scene to add to the complications, the question becomes whether the Mitchell family as a collective and the three individual pods - Mike, Andi and Noah in one, Brandon, Jake and their two children in a second, and Bill and Phylis in the third - will be able to survive the proceedings.—Huggo

Christmas is the favorite time of year for thirty-something sisters Cara and Amy Martin, who have a pact to spend Christmases together doing their favorite niche Christmas activities in their hometown of New York City, despite Cara having moved to Pittsburgh. One of their traditions is to make a Christmas wish, which always come true. Last year, they both made the same wish: to meet their soulmate by Christmas this year. While it has happened for Amy in she marrying on Christmas Eve, it doesn't seem to have worked for Cara, that is until she meets Chace en route to New York from Pittsburgh for Christmas and Amy's wedding, Chace who loves all those same obscure New York Christmas traditions and activities. While Cara loses touch with Chace upon arriving in New York out of unfortunate circumstances, she does try to locate him at all those favorite Christmas sites. She seems continually to run into Michael Williams instead, he the reason she lost Chace's contact information and he who doesn't do traditional Christmas anymore favoring Christmas in the tropics. The most talented writer on the magazine where he works, he is on the brink of being fired in not keeping to the briefs supplied to him. His latest assignment, about which he knows nothing in not having spent Christmas in New York in years, is the top ten obscure Christmas activities in the city. Alone this year in Amy preparing for the wedding, Cara makes a deal with Michael: he can accompany her on her Christmas activities in her mission to locate Chace, while Michael helps her with her professional mission to become a graphic designer by being the conduit to a graphic design firm contact of his, Cara still in Pittsburgh at the job she hates solely on the promise by her company that they will "eventually" move her into a graphic design job. As Cara and Michael spend time together, they have to figure out what to do about their emerging feelings for each other in light of her search for Chace, who she is sure is her soulmate.—Huggo
